Benue Government Sues Miyetti Allah Over Herdsmen Attacks On State Residents

The Benue state government has filed a lawsuit against the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore over the increasing attacks on residents of the state by suspected herdsmen.
The state governor, Samuel Ortom, who anounced this yesterday April 30th while speaking to newsmen in the state house, said the inaction of the leadership of the herdsmen association, is responsible for the widespread murder and violence witnessed across 14 out of the 23 local councils of the state.
The implementation of the anti-open grazing law in Benue has been greeted by a series of attacks on some communities in the state, with several lives lost since the beginning of 2018. The herdsmen have kicked against the policy.
Last Tuesday, suspected herdsmen stormed a Catholic church during its early morning mass and killed two priests and 17 parishioners.
